I have been using Nostr for a long time and always use a browser extension to log in to Nostr-supported apps. I believe it’s the most secure way to use Nostr because it never exposes the nsec to clients. Instead, it injects window.nostr, and all clients use it to sign events.

However, automated apps sometimes require signing access, and naturally, it is not easy to trust applications with your nsec. To solve this, there is NIP-46 Remote Signing.

I like to watch my local and server logs to catch any errors caused by background tasks from time to time. With this motivation, I’ve decided to create a tool.

Journal Guardian just follows the Journald service, and it tries to find a solution when it catches an error by getting help from an LLM.

It’s easy to install and use for Linux and macOS. I used Go as the language and Nix as the build tool.

I was using Wallet of Satoshi at first, but then I realized it does not support NWC, so I found Alby. It’s great, but I didn’t want to make that many payments (I’m a developer but a newbie in Nostr, more of an explorer).

Thanks to Alby, they have an open-source AlbyHub. I had a Raspberry Pi 3, so I updated it and installed AlbyHub, then connected my wallet to my Alby account.

Still, I didn’t like depending on other domains. Alby gave me the address fallingwhimsy946296@getalby.com—ugly, right? So I started researching how to have a custom LN Address. Alby offers this if you buy their cloud hub, but as I mentioned, I didn’t want to spend money for this exploration.

Github actions is a powerful tool. Today I built a simple deployment configuration for a client.

It is uploading repository content to server via rsync.

Preperations:

We need to create ssh keys. ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 4096 -C "your_email@example.com" generate your keys. You will have private and public keys.

Add generated public key to your servers .ssh/authorized_keys file. Add generated private key to github repositories secrets as PKEY

How is working?

We will use shimataro/ssh-key-action@v2 action to configure ssh key in runner. Save SSH_HOST,SSH_USER and APP_ROOT folders in github repository secrets.

You can get file path in vim with % (percent) symbol. Sometimes you need to run a command with the current file path, for example git add filepath or sh filepath.

You can add the current file to git with this command in vim:

or you can run any file with this command:

For example, you write a bash script and saved it. But you don’t want to close vim or you don’t want to go to another terminal screen. Just you need to write :!%:p and vim run the file for you.

Sometimes you get an error like that:

container extension liip_imagine not registered

You double-checked all configurations and you are absolutely sure nothing is wrong.

But code not works, why?

Because Php can’t convert i to I if os language is tr_TR. Your code searches Liipİmagine and can’t find that. Change os’s lang code to en_US.UTF-8 for fix that.

Or add this line to .bashrc or .profile file.
